>> Card Procedures by Grade Levels
ELC – Grade 1
Students in ELC and Grade 1 do not use personalized lunch cards, as they are considered
too young to manage them independently. Instead, a daily attendance list containing all
student names is provided to the classroom teacher and/or lunchtime supervisor before
lunch. Students who are dining with us on that particular day are marked manually on
the list. Our staff then collects the list and records the meals for the identified students in
the system.
Grade 2 – 5
Students in Grades 2–5 use personalized lunch cards provided by Sodexo. Upon entering
the dining hall, they collect their cards from designated collection boards. After selecting
their meal, students proceed through the service line and complete their purchase at
one of our four cash registers. The selected items are charged directly to their lunch card
account, and the card is retained by our staff after checkout.
As students typically have possession of their lunch card for less than seven minutes, the
risk of cards being lost is significantly reduced.
Grade 6 – 12
Students in Grades 6–12 use their personalized student identification cards issued by
VIS (Edu.cards). These cards must be presented whenever they use Sodexo services.
In addition to enhancing security, the use of student ID cards significantly improves
transaction speed at the cash registers.
If a student loses their identification card, VIS will issue a replacement. Any remaining
balance on the original card will be transferred to the new card.
>> What If the Lunch Card Runs Low –
Overdraft Policy
We understand that sometimes credits run low unexpectedly. To make
sure no student goes without a meal, we offer an overdraft allowance.
Each student is allowed to overdraw their lunch account by up to € 15,00
no matter if a student is registered to the lunch programme or not. Families
with negative balances receive an e-mail reminder every
Thursday morning.
Important: During the final three weeks
of the school year, overdrafts are no longer
permitted. All outstanding balances must
be cleared before the end of the term.
