>> Lunch Card System
There are two Lunch Card Systems implemented for the use in the cafeteria.
•
“Mifare” Card for Primary students: These are provided by Sodexo and stored in
the cafeteria to prevent loss.
•
Edu.card for students in grades 6–12: These are issued by the school
administration directly to the students and the student card number will be
imported into our system.
Each time a student (Primary and Secondary Grades) gets lunch, they have to scan the
card at one of our four cash registers directly. To fully enjoy the Cafeteria Services it is
strictly required to use the personal Edu.card or “Mifare” Card.
Please note: no other options (personal codes, names, etc.) will be accepted. This to
avoid any misunderstandings and to increase the speed of service during service hours.
There are several ways these cards can be used, depending on the payment method
chosen:
1. Pre-paid school lunch programme: If your child is enrolled in the Pre-paid school
lunch programme, their “Mifare” Card (ELC & Grade 1 to 5) or Edu.card (starting grade 6)
is digitally coded to reflect this. At checkout (for Primary and Secondary students), your
child simply scan the card and the system will register the Pre-paid lunch — quick and
easy, no further payment needed.
2. Pay-as-you-go (Top-Up Balance): If you have not selected a Pre-paid plan, your
child’s “Mifare” Card/ Edu.card can be manually topped up with credits. In this case day’s
lunch is then deducted from this balance. The information on how to top-up credit to the
cards please find in chapter “Payment Options for Parents”.
3. Combining Pre-paid meals with extras: Even students with Pre-paid lunches may
wish to purchase additional items such as a snack or beverage. To do this, simply add
extra credit to your child’s “Mifare” Card/Edu.card card using one of the top-up options
above. At checkout, the Pre-paid lunch will be automatically recognized and any extras
will be charged to the credited balance.
