HOW THE SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAMME WORKS
>> Meal Options by Age Group & Meal Substitutions
Our lunch menus are designed to meet the nutritional needs and preferences of
growing students.
Each lunch includes freshly prepared soup of the day, a main course (selection of three
daily options, one option is always vegetarian), a small salad and either a dessert or a
piece of fruit.
>> ELC (Early Learning Centre) to Grade 1 students receive a set menu, tailored to
younger children and marked with a “Backpack”
on weekly menus.
>> From Grade 2 to 5, students may choose from three different main courses each day.
Please note: bottled drinks are not available for purchase for ELC and Primary students.
Tap water is provided with every meal for ELC and Primary School students.
>> Starting with Grade 6, students enjoy an even broader variety, including:
•
Menu with three main course options
•
Special dishes
•
A Mix & Match Bowl bar
Please note: if the total value of selected items exceeds the cost of a standard Pre-paid
Meal, the additional amount must be paid at the time of purchase.
Weekly menus are published in advance, helping families stay informed and plan ahead.
>> What’s on the menu?
Menus will be available at https://www.vis.ac.at/services/catering, in the VIS-Intranet,
and in the “eatApp“ and “eatWebsite“.
Food information, including allergens as well as vegan and vegetarian options, will be
displayed directly on the menu and at the serving stations in the restaurant. This ensures
transparency and supports students in making healthy and confident meal choices.
