Annual Report 2025
Andrej Bosnjak
Having walked in and out of VIS
daily since 2017, and now reflecting
upon it, I can safely say that not a
single day was wasted, and I never
dreaded coming to school. VIS truly
offered an irreplicable high school
experience that challenged me and
pushed me to become better; it motivated me to pursue my goals for
my own sake, and not for impressing anyone else. The DP is incredibly well planned, supported by an
outstanding set of teachers and resources that truly care for you and
want to see you succeed.

Looking back at my time at VIS, I can confidently say
that VIS staff want you to realise your potential and
succeed as much as possible. From support sessions
during activity week to pizza parties after our mock exams, the faculty guided us through the process from the
first to the last day, and rewarded us for our achievements. That being said, I believe that a key to success
during the IB is stepping away from reliance on your
teachers and their teaching styles, and assuming responsibility over your own work. With the vast amount
of resources online and available through VIS systems,
consistently working hard outside of class and staying
up to date week after week will make your preparation
for final exams a much more manageable challenge.
As you enter the final stages in IB, I recommend you
to take advantage of clubs, programmes, and opportunities as much as possible, in order to develop a better
understanding of who you are and what you want to
do in the future. Moreover, a balance between working hard towards the IB and doing activities which you
enjoy both keep you in good mental health and avoid
burnout. Finally, enjoy your time at VIS, for it will be a
memory to reflect on before you know it.
Beyond the academics, sports and
extracurriculars were very well integrated into school life, and some
of those Panthers Basketball team
wins and tournaments will undoubtedly stick with me for the rest
of my life. VIS fostered independence and instilled confidence and
curiosity in me; qualities I genuinely don’t believe I would have developed to the same extent elsewhere.
One of the greatest lessons I carry
with me to this day, and one that
pushed me through the DP, is to fall
in love with the process. Once you
truly enjoy and immerse yourself in
what you’re doing, grades and performance metrics become secondary; and even if they don’t initially
reflect your efforts, with discipline,
dedication, and persistence, they
eventually will. Thank you, VIS, for
an incredible eight years and for
preparing me so well for the next
stage of life.
