VIS’ international identity is one of the defining characteristics that sets us
apart. As a school located in Vienna, a global hub of culture, diplomacy and
dialogue, we are able to thrive as a culturally diverse and interconnected
community. Each day our students learn that being a global citizen is not
simply a theoretical concept, but rather a lived practice based in empathy,
responsibility and respect for differing perspectives.
Additionally, VIS’ commitment to sustainability, ethical leadership, and
service continues to be a vital part of our story. We see our students using
their talents to lead and implement various initiatives, and we provide
them with opportunities for meaningful learning experiences to demonstrate that education should empower young people not only to achieve,
but to act with courage, compassion, and conviction.
All of this could not be possible without the professional dedication and
commitment of all our staff members, the trust and partnership of our
families, and the involvement and integrity of our students. Most importantly, VIS is a learning community that values relationships, dialogue and
shared accountability.
I hope that as you review this “transitional” 2025 Annual Report, you will
see a rich portrayal of a school that is proud of its values, strengthened
by reflection, and united in its direction. I am excited and humbled at the
same time to look to the future with pride in our accomplishments, and
optimism for what lies ahead, as we move forward as a school community
together to inspire, empower and educate the global citizens of tomorrow.
